So often in politics we get people pressing for things that they themselves don’t even use. Gerry Mason, Michigan state grassroots co-chair for John McCain’s campaign, on the other hand believes in Senator McCain’s health care plan because he knows the advantages of a Health Savings Account. Why? Because he has one.
Gerry Mason said when he switched his health care coverage to a Health Care Savings Account, his family saw savings of $800 a month.
“We are saving a fortune,” he said. Sen. John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, “will encourage and expand the benefits of Health Insurance Savings accounts.”
Mason, a St. Clair lawyer and co-chairman of McCain’s statewide grassroots effort, said the accounts are just one of many health care initiatives the Arizona senator would push as president.
Mason went on to say that McCain’s plan puts control of health care out of the government’s hands and into the responsibility of the individual. Right where we believe it should be.
